As a consultant she has worked for IBI Group, for the Athens Public Transport Authority to develop the master plan of Attica region for the years 2011, 2016, and 2023.  She was responsible for the coding and simulation of the future transportation networks of the Attica region, as well as for the estimation of key performance indicators based on the network statistics.

Since February 2010, is the Managing Director of the Institute of Shipping and Transport Applications, K.M.Lo ( IN.S.T.A.L. S.A.). IN.S.T.A.L., is  a spin-off research entity of University of the Aegean, with participation of the prefectures of the islands of Lesvos and Samos. The research activities of the Institute combine management, engineering, economics and policy aspects, and benefit from work on research and consultancy projects and strong links to local transportation firms, shipping lines and operators, which ensure a practical and up to date approach.

Dr. Tsirimpa is currently studying the factors affecting individuals’ activities scheduling and particularly the effect of real time travel information on activity-based models. Special attention is also given on modeling individuals’ intention towards behaviour.  She has extensive experience in survey design, sampling design, and modeling combined revealed preferences and stated preferences discrete choice models, as well as latent variable models in which the attitudes and perceptions of decision makers are taken into account in the choice process.
